We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Salinas.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

Enjoyed the outing very much. Learned a good bit about using my Millis camera to take black-and-white photographs. Particularly enjoyed the 80% exercise exercises.

It was very well organized and structured. I was given clear instructions and goals to accomplish and there was ample time to complete the tasks. Izzy was available throughout the duration of the workshop for consultation and discussion. Having like minded fellow photographers in the group was an added benefit.

Izzy took us up a beautiful mountain where I learned more about composition, the ability of color to draw attention to areas of photograph, and leading lines and a photograph.

I was attending my brother in law's wedding in Napa , and while taking a walk outside The open doors and glow from inside with the dancing and laughter made me want to try and "save" the moment. I used my Apple Pro Max , with Adobe's Project Indigo camera app, and did some quick edits on Lightroom Mobile..

This is the SS Palo Alto cement/concrete ship built as a tanker at the end of World War I. She is located at Seacliff State Beach in California. At one time there was a pier that connected to the ship but it was demolished this year because of the storms we had in 2023. I took this photo while going on my beach walk about a month ago.

Title or Location: This Still Life Photograph of "Grapes, Strawberry's and Wine" was taken in my bedroom in Orange County California.
This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.

I took this picture as a quiet metaphor for life. The wheel rpresents the circle of life: rising, reaching its height, and slowly descending. The sunset suggests the end of the journey, not with fear, but with beauty and dignity. The reflection in the river is like old memoriessoft, blurred, but still alive. In that moment, I felt I was not photographing London, but time itself: life moving in a circle, the day coming to an end, and the past glowing gently in the water.

Franklin, Wiggles (sister) and I all live in Albuquerque, NM. Franklin is a rescue that found me after I lost my Mini Dachshund, girl, Casey. He is a sweet, affectionate, gentle little spirit that came from an abusive environment but now lives peacefully, acting as a model, in my little home studio. The photo was shot with a Lumix 5sii, 50mm, f9, iso 100, 1/60 shutter speed and a 2-flash set up.
